As an experienced diver, I had been eagerly anticipating my trip to Kauai for a long time, and it certainly did not disappoint, despite the unpredictable weather. Although we had to adjust our plans due to the captain’s decision, we knew that mother nature always has the final say.

When we arrived at the mooring buoy, our dive master wasted no time instructing us to jump in with just our snorkel gear. What we saw beneath the surface was truly awe-inspiring – a massive manta ray feasting on the spawn of surgeon trumpet fish. I had never been so up close and personal with one of these gentle giants before, except for seeing them from a hotel balcony in Kona village on the big island of Hawaii, where the resort lights attracted many of them each evening.

Soon after returning to the dive boat, we were treated to another unforgettable sight. A large pod of bottlenose dolphins swam past us, followed by a pod of spinner dolphins – all before we even donned our tanks.

The dives that followed were absolutely spectacular. We encountered green sea turtles in abundance, a few hawksbill turtles, as well as parrot fish, wrasse, butterfly fish, jacks, angel fish, and even peacock grouper. We also spotted a diverse array of tropical and smaller critters, including an elusive octopus.

If you’re planning a scuba diving adventure in Kauai, look no further than Explore Kauai Scuba. My recent diving trip with them was nothing short of phenomenal, thanks to the exceptional expertise of Captain Nick and Dive Master Jessie.

From the moment we arrived, their professionalism and experience were evident. Their seamless cohesiveness as a team was remarkable and put us all at ease. Not only were they highly skilled and knowledgeable, but they were also a joy to be around. Their friendly and welcoming demeanor made our trip all the more enjoyable.

Whether you’re an experienced diver or a beginner, I highly recommend Explore Kauai Scuba for all your diving needs. Their attention to detail, commitment to safety, and passion for diving made for an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, they exceeded my expectations and left me with memories that will last a lifetime.

While on vacation, however, I received some sad news – a good friend had passed away in his sleep. He was not yet sixty and had no known serious health issues. One of his favorite sayings was, “always eat your dessert first. You never know what might happen next.”

This news made me realize that we should never put off our dreams and aspirations, whether they be a dream vacation or retirement. We must seize the day and live our lives to the fullest. Cheers to that.
